PAC-10 Officially Invites Utah
June 16th 2010 20:24
The University of Utah has been officially invited to join the PAC-10 conference. A press conference is scheduled for tomorrow, but all signs point to Utah accepting this offer.
This move, though not totally unexpected after recent events, does a few things for the college football scene. Namely, it bumps the PAC-10 up to 12 teams (with the earlier addition of Colorado) and raises the level of competition in the conference - as Utah's football and basketball teams have had success in recent years on the national level.
Here in Washington, we can almost hear the moans coming from our eastern state border neighbor, Idaho, as Boise St. now finds themselves right back where they were in the WAC - the class of a mediocre, non-BCS invited, Moutain West Conference. But at least they still have the blue turf!
