Football picks for Week 3

Where the Hawks continue to live up to expectations
Sure is fun being a fan of Seattle sports right now, isn't it? If my beloved Washington Huskies hadn't found my new favorite quarterback in Price, I don't know how much football I'd be watching right now. But I'll rag on the Seahawks later. Let's get to the picks....
New England @ Buffalo
I know it's tempting to take the Bills. Really, I do. It's like watching a movie where the bully has been taking lunch money from the smallest kid in class, until finally that small kid stands up for himself. Since 2001, the Patriots are 19-1 against the Bills. 19-1! Buffalo has an offense that has actually scored more points than the Patriots this year, and the Patriots have a defense that is 31st in the league. Like I said, tempting. And if you wanted more reasons to root for Buffalo, check out the new ESPN the Magazine. Annoying, right? Anyways, bet with your head not your heart.
Patriots 35, Bills 31
San Francisco @ Cincinnati
After the Niners beat the Hawks in week 1, The Onion posted a headline that read "49ers on pace for 1-15 record" which is funny, but inaccurate. They're on pace for a 2-14 record. They play Seattle one more time.
Bengals 26-21
Miami @ Cleveland
How bad has it been in Cleveland these last few years? If they win today, which would put their record at 2-1, they would be above .500 through three games for the first time in nine years. Nine years! Peyton Hillis is out with strep throat, but even worse for Miami, Chad Henne has no illness of any kind and will still be able to play. Tough break for the Dolphins.
Browns 24-21
Denver @ Tennessee
I don't know what to make of the Titans. They looked terrible against a mediocre (at best) Jacksonville team, then turned around and looked great against a very good (we think) Ravens team. Who knows which Hasselbeck they'll get this game. Remember last year when Hasselbeck looked great at home and terrible on the road for Seattle? I'm going with that theory here. At Jacksonville he couldn't do anything. Then, in his home opener, he throws for 358 yards and doesn't get sacked once. Against a very injured Denver team, I'm keeping with that theory.
Titans 28-17
Detroit @ Minnesota
That blown 17-0 halftime lead last week might be the recurring theme of the Viking's 2011 season. It's tough to close out games when teams start putting 11 guys in the box and begging your 72 year old QB to throw the ball. Through two weeks Detroit looks like the real deal and I don't see that changing against the Vikings.
Lions 24-17
Houston @ New Orleans
I like Houston, I really do, but after wins against Miami and Indianapolis, they are going to find the game a bit different when they play against a team that actually starts a real quarterback. Also, no Arian Foster.
Saints 38-21
Giants @ Philly
Vick is playing. That's all the info you need for this game.
Eagles 34-17
Jacksonville @ Carolina
For those jumping on the Cam Newton bandwagon, before you do, remember that the rookie who had thrown for the most yards through two games before Cam was Todd Marinovich. Having said that, he's looked pretty good through two games (if you ignore turnovers) and might continue that trend against a Jags team on the road. Ok, he probably will.
Panthers 26-21
Arizona @ Seattle
Did you know that Marshawn Lynch has 44 yards rushing? That's total. After two games. He is the starting running back and he has 44 total yards rushing. Combine that with a quarterback holds the ball longer than most Jenna Haze scenes and you have one putrid offense. This will be the first home game for the Hawks, so maybe that turns them around. I just can't pick Seattle to win until I see some sign that half of the players actually belong in the NFL. By the way, if San Fran loses, the winner of this game is in first place. NFC West!
Cards 26-14 10 7 3
Jets @ Oakland
UPSET ALERT!
Raiders 28-24
Baltimore @ St. Louis
Tough to figure out the Ravens after they got chewed up by Matt Hasselbeck. But, then again, the other option would be taking the Rams against a team that I still feel might be one of the elites. Right.
Ravens 31-17
Kansas City @ San Diego
Wow, Chiefs fans, um, wow. Hey, I know it sucks. I really do. You lost 2 of your best players in Charles and Berry, you've been outscored by a record (after 2 games) 79, and your quarterback has less TDs and more picks than Tarvaris Jackson. But, hey, look at the bright side. You get to go on the road against one of the best teams in the league. You're welcome.
Chargers 42-9
Green Bay and Chicago
"Cutler is sacked again! That is the Packers 7th sack of the half, and Jay Cutler doesn't look happy"
Packers 31-13
Atlanta @ Tampa Bay
This was going to be my other upset pick, except Tampa Bay is actually favored by a point. Hmmm.....
Falcons (In an upset!) 28-25
Pittsburgh @ Indianapolis
The Stealers have a pretty tough 2 weeks going from Seattle to the Colts.
Whatever. I'll just watch highlights of their week 1 game against the Ravens while this game is on.
Stealers 28-3
Washington @ Dallas
Toughest pick of the week. On one hand, you have a Dallas squad that wasn't very good last year and needed overtime to win against a fairly not good team in San Francisco. Even with Romo potentially not starting, the other hand is a Washington team that I'm not completely sure is going to compete on the road. Although Grossman has looked good...and probably no Miles Austin...alright, I'm picking Washington.
Redskins 27-24
