Ex-Seattle Player of the week #3
August 12th 2010 23:06
Alert!
Alert!
It is time once again to crown an Ex-Seattle player of the week. And may I say, this one kind of hurts.
This week’s winner is probably not in the running for Ex-Seattle player of the Year, but darn it, he sure had a grrrrreat! week.
Brandon Morrow, Toronto Blue Jays
8/8 stat line: 9 IP, 1 H (came with 2 outs in the 9th inning), 2 BBs and 17 Ks
If I were Brandon Morrow, the first thing I would do after winning this award would be to call up Jack Z. and tell him to suck it.
Jack Z traded Morrow during the off season because it was believed Morrow had no chance of beating out the likes of Ryan Rowland-Smith, Ian Snell or Mr. 90 pitches (Erik Bedard), to make the rotation.
Hmmm, can someone tell me where those pitchers are now?
Morrow has started 22 games this year and has an ERA of 4.45 and a WHIP of 1.37. May not be the greatest of stats, but give him a break, he pitches in probably the best division in all of baseball, the AL East. I wonder how Ryan Rowland-Smith and Ian Snell would’ve turned out, pitching in that division. My guess is they’d be stuck in the minor league. Oh Wait. That’s where they are now.
So, congrats to Brandon Morrow for once again proving Jack Z wrong (Don Wakamatsu). We here at Unsportsman.com are extremely happy you’ve been given the chance to pitch as a starter this year. Here’s to Morrow shutting down the Marnier’s for years to come.
In the words of our fearless leader (Winless in Seattle) “Send in those submissions for next week and until then – check back with us often for updates, rumblings and grumblings.”
Marnier’s baseball, WTF!!!
(Disclaimer: Do not confuse Brandon Morrow with Brandon League. Brandon League is who the Mariners traded Morrow for and is currently the Mariners’ leader in home runs... ALLOWED.)
